The Merger

All select programs in SkVYSA are joining forces. Anacortes Soccer League, Anacortes Parks & Rec, Burlington-Edison, Conway, LaConner, La Liga Tlaxtli, Mount Vernon, San Juan, Sedro-Woolley, Stanwood-Camano, and Skagit Storm.

Organization and Name
• Each club in the SkVYSA will be granted an “at large” board position in the new club.
• Each team will have a seat on the Board
• A uniform-color committee will be formed to identify the color scheme.

Grandfathered Teams
• Existing teams from the 2007 season (those that were not a part of Skagit Storm) may operate separately, under their local club in 2008 (and beyond), if 50% of the players from 2007 return each year.
• These teams may opt out of the common tryout and hold separate tryouts, but if they do, they will not be allowed to participate in LPT’s.

Tryouts
• There will be a combined tryout to make up all select teams in the new club.
• Where more than one coach is selected (prior to trytouts) for a given age group, players will be given the opportunity to select a preference among those coaches.
• Players will be rated at tryouts. The top 18 players will be contacted and invited to play on the top-level team. Players may, of course, decline and choose to play with another team in that age group.

Costs
• The new club will develop a cost structure that will accommodate a financially diverse population.
• Teams will be able to select from a range of uniforms in order to save money. At the bottom end of the range would be T-shirts with the club logo.
• Teams may choose not to use services such as playing field rental and training

U11 teams
• All U11 teams will be formed under the new club in 2008.
• Other new teams can be formed for 2008 season, however, they will be folded into the new club in 2009. Unlike “grandfathered teams that may continue to play outside of the new club as long as they meet the 50% rule.
